Description:
We’re looking to appoint individuals to support the Public Protection Division in the delivery of health protection interventions. Our local Pembrokeshire team works in partnership with regional colleagues including Hywel Dda and Public Health Wales.
As a member of the team, you will be required to:
- Undertake contact tracing/interviews of acute respiratory infections and other specified infectious diseases.
- Provide support to care homes and other high risk settings on the maintenance of infection, prevention and control measures and offer advice when managing incidents of Covid-19 in line with national requirements.
- Carry out advisory visits to care homes, nurseries, pre-school settings, premises providing special procedures etc to promote compliance with infection, prevention and control measures and other health protection requirements.
- Assist in the investigation of other incidents and outbreaks under the guidance of environmental health and health protection specialists.
- Participate in and support wider health protection work across Public Protection Division, appropriate to the role e.g. undertaking surveys; assisting in monitoring and surveillance exercises; assisting in the dissemination of information and advice; and provision of guidance
Posts to be funded by new recurring income from Hywel Dda UHB, which forms part of permanent increased funding from Welsh Government, for investment in health protection.
The salary for a HPA is Grade 6, salary range £25,979 - £28,770 per annum.
