RECRUITMENT INFORMATION
This posting is for the State of Hawaii, Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs, Insurance Division, Health Insurance Branch.
The position is located on Oahu (Downtown Honolulu).
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education: Graduation from an accredited four (4) year college or university with a bachelor’s degree.
Experience: Two and one-half (2-1/2) years of experience dealing with insurance or health related issues. Previous experience in dealing with public on a one-to-one basis and upper level management and related protocols is highly desirable.
Knowledge: Understanding of general insurance principles and consumer protection issues relating to health insurance.
Skills/Abilities: Works independently; conducts research; strong organizational skills; analyze and evaluate rate and policy filings involving multiple coverages; possesses good oral and writing skills.

Responsibilities:
The Health Branch of the Insurance Division is seeking to fill a Health Rate and Policy Analyst position.
The purpose of the position is to independently conduct supporting health insurance rate and policy analysis and research, and to recommend actions to the supervisor and the commissioner. The position is responsible for planning, organizing and executing cases to conclusion with recommendations, which are logical and comprehensive. The position primarily focuses on health insurance policies and filings as required by law.
