Health & Safety Advisor
Location: Hitchin (Head Office), with site travel 1-2 times per month
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000
Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm

KEY REQUIREMENTS:
- Previous experience working in a Health & Safety role, ideally within construction (although this is not essential).
- NEBOSH or IOSH qualification is essential.
- Strong knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage with people at all levels.
- Full UK driving licence, as travel to sites will be required (1-2 times per month).

Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE:
As the Health & Safety Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring a safe working environment across the company’s projects. While a construction background is preferred, our client is willing to provide industry-specific training for candidates with relevant Health & Safety experience. The role is primarily based at the company’s head office near Hitchin, with occasional travel to sites (1-2 times per month) to carry out assessments and audits.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations across all company projects and operations.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and audits at both the office and site locations.
- Provide Health & Safety advice and guidance to employees, ensuring best practices are followed.
- Assist in the development and implementation of health and safety policies and procedures.
- Deliver safety inductions and training sessions for new and existing staff.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current H&S legislation and ensure the business is always compliant.
