Description:

SALARY: $65-75,000 TO START, DOE

We’re looking for an enthusiastic Health & Safety Advisor to join our growing team working with clients to develop their safety programs and ensure compliance. If you are an experienced professional with a deep understanding of occupational health and safety standards, specifically construction regulations, then this role is for you!
As a Health & Safety Advisor your time will be spent identifying client needs, providing guidance, developing programs and delivering health and safety management services on-site at various client locations throughout the Greater Hamilton Area.

You’ll be a perfect fit if you love to:

  • Interact with clients to provide health and safety guidance and leadership to assist in maintaining compliance
  • Review, modify and update existing health and safety programs and courses
  • Perform safety officer duties on behalf of clients, including: leading meetings, facilitating training, performing inspections, audits, program updates and incident reporting
  • Research and develop new health and safety courses for both online and instructor-led formats
  • Participate in professional development sessions, team meetings and instructor training
  • Teach students through lectures, discussions, audio-visual presentations, and hands-on equipment training
  • Keep up to date on legislative changes and requirements throughout Canada, specifically Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia
  • Travel occasionally throughout Ontario

You’ll need to bring:

  • A degree, diploma or certificate in occupational health and safety from a recognized post-secondary institution OR recent occupational health and safety experience
  • 1 - 4 years’ experience working in a health and safety advisory capacity required, within the construction or manufacturing industry preferred
  • Experience delivering health and safety training
  • NCSO, CRSP or CHSC designation(s) (preferred)
  • Experience in developing, implementing and auditing COR health and safety programs
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong communication and client relationship skills
  • Must have a valid Ontario G licence
  • Must reside and be able to legally work in Canada
