DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented Health, Safety, and Environment Leader-Moderate Complexity to join our team specializing in Health & Safety for our corporate office in Maxton, NC.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
College, university, or equivalent degree in Occupational Health, Safety or Environmental required.
Professional certification in HSE-related field preferred.
Significant relevant experience required, including management of health, safety and/or environmental ISO Standards required. 5-7 years of experience, 1-2 years management experience.
Responsibilities:
IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT IN THE FOLLOWING WAYS:
Fostering a Positive Culture: By building strong relationships and ensuring everyone understands their roles, you’ll drive a positive health, safety, and environmental culture across the site.
Employee Engagement: You’ll ensure employees are consulted and involved in developing and implementing programs, policies, and procedures, fostering a sense of ownership and commitment.
Risk Management: Leading hazard identification and risk assessment programs will help you identify strategic opportunities for improvement and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Strategic Planning: You’ll manage planning actions to set targets and objectives, driving these actions to completion to achieve both short-term and long-term goals.
Training and Development: By leading an effective support model through training and skills development, you’ll ensure that all employees are well-equipped to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
Regulatory Compliance: Interfacing with external regulatory bodies and ensuring adherence to Cummins’ internal requirements will keep the site compliant with all relevant regulations and standards.
Performance Improvement: Using a risk-based and data-driven approach, you’ll drive improvements in health, safety, and environmental performance metrics, ensuring continual enhancement.
Leadership and Development: Coaching and developing direct reports and cross-functional teams will not only resolve incidents and non-compliances but also drive continual improvement and prepare the team for future challenges.
