Location: Richmond, BC YVR
Salary Range: $60,000 to $70,000

JOB SUMMARY:
The Occupational Health and Safety Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining health and safety programs that ensure the well-being of employees and compliance with regulations. This role will work closely with management, employees, and external partners to identify risks, conduct safety training, and promote a culture of safety.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Certifications: CSP (Certified Safety Professional), OSHA certification, or other relevant safety certifications are preferred.
Experience: 2-4 years of experience in occupational health and safety or a related role.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of OSHA regulations, risk assessment techniques, and safety management principles.
SKILLS:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:
Develop and Implement Safety Programs: Design, implement, and maintain safety policies, procedures, and programs that comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
Conduct Risk Assessments: Identify workplace hazards, conduct risk assessments, and recommend preventive measures to reduce risks and ensure a safe working environment.
Training and Education: Develop and deliver training sessions on safety practices, emergency procedures, and the use of protective equipment. Ensure all employees are educated on safety protocols.
Accident Investigation: Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses. Identify root causes, develop corrective actions, and ensure proper documentation.
Compliance Monitoring: Conduct regular inspections and audits of the workplace to ensure compliance with OSHA and other relevant safety regulations.
Maintain Safety Records: Keep detailed records of safety training, incidents, and safety-related activities. Prepare reports for management and regulatory bodies as needed.
Emergency Response Coordination: Develop and maintain emergency response plans, including fire drills, evacuation procedures, and first aid coordination.
Collaborate with Management: Work closely with management to integrate safety into daily operations and support continuous improvement initiatives.
