Join a talented and ambitious global engineering consultancy specializing in the rapid engineering and development of sustainable electrified propulsion systems and associated technologies, working directly and collaboratively with automotive, commercial vehicle, off-highway, aerospace and defense OEMs, Tier-1s and industry research bodies through our technical centers in North America, the U.K. and India.
Personal Profile and Experience
The HSE and Facilities Manager will report to the Head of HR and will take responsibility for designing, developing and implementing robust management systems.
The role involves working across the business, taking a hands-on approach, regularly interacting with our people to promote a positive health and safety culture.
This is a stand-alone role, with line management responsibility for our 3 Facilities Team members.

What you will need

  • NEBOSH qualification /or equivalent experience
  • Extensive knowledge of relevant HSE and Sustainability legislation and policy
  • Experience working with ISO 14001 & 9001 standards
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills
  • A flexible approach to the role and work
  • Ability to work autonomously, defining and managing own priorities
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Relevant engineering industry experience is desirable
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, excel, PowerPoint)

Key Responsibilities

  • Promoting a safety-first culture in the business and ensure compliance to our policies and procedures
  • Design, develop and implement internal policy, ensuring awareness of all employees
  • Conduct audits, report on the findings and recommendations to the Ops Board monthly
  • Carrying out accident/near miss investigations and report via the Ops Board monthly
  • Develop and deliver Toolbox Talks regarding high-risk activities
  • Identify hazards and ensure risk assessments are completed and reviewed
  • Reviewing and providing feedback to RAMS and risk assessments
  • Keep up to date with all aspects of relevant health, safety & welfare at work legislation and communicate relevant changes to the business
  • Design, develop and implement safe operational procedures
  • Lead in-house training with managers and employees about health and safety issues and risks
  • Keep records of inspection findings and produce reports that suggest improvements
  • Work with our external consultants to develop our sustainability priorities and deliver to our plans
  • Produce newsletters and bulletins
  • Ensure equipment is installed safely
  • Support and organise the safe disposal of hazardous substances, e.g. chemicals
  • Advise on a range of specialist areas, e.g. fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise, safeguarding machinery and occupational diseases
  • Line management of the facilities team, including time management, setting objectives and conducting annual appraisals
