KEY SKILLS:

· We are looking for someone with a minimum of a NEBOSH general certificate or equivalent H&S Professional membership (e.g IOSH Technical) essential
· Adaptable and hands on approach is crucial for this role
· Outstanding organisation and planning skills and a good eye for detail. The candidate should be able to prioritise, schedule, and organise activities to meet the objectives of the company and the role.
· Excellent people and team building skills with the ability to build strong relationships, internally and externally across all teams, strong communication skills both verbal and written coordinate plans, distribute information and develop a mutual knowledge
· Knowledge of Microsoft office packages such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint
· Problem solving skills; The ability to resolve problems creatively using practical solutions is essential
· Ability to take clear, concise and accurate minutes of meetings (and follow up on action points as appropriate)
· Previous experience using app-based Health and Safety management software
· An ability to multi-task and work across multiple, very different departments
· Ability to exercise discretion and handle confidential or sensitive information

DESIRABLE SKILLS:

· Experience in delivering Health and Safety within a customer experience environment
· Previous experience of managing First Aid Response within a work environment
· A keen interest in MTB and BikePark Wales
. H&S Diploma advantageous
. H&S Degree advantageous
· Ability to communicate in the Welsh language
· Enhanced DBS certificate
· First Aid Qualifications

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

We are looking for an energetic, responsible, and organised individual to join our team as Health, Safety & Compliance Manager. In this role you will be key in the further development of H&S procedures across the business being the “go to” person for all things Health & Safety. You will support Heads of Department in H&S training of other members of staff, whilst carrying out regular site inspections and audits as well as regular process reviews.
You will be ensuring compliance with all relevant H&S, Environmental and Building Regulations, and supporting managers in meeting their responsibilities. You will also provide support to Heads of Department with meeting Technical Governance Standards (e.g. First Response, Transport). This role will be responsible for ensuring 3rd party contractors provide suitable RAMS, work safely and comply with BPW procedures while on site.

In order to succeed in this role, you will play an active part in our operations, therefore partaking in events and supporting duty management during operations. As an outdoor activity, you should be comfortable getting out and about across the site. To achieve in this role, you will need to be an organised and adaptable individual with an attention to detail, eager to hit the ground running in an exceptionally busy and unique environment.
This is a process driven role in an organisation where no two days will be the same. You will need entrepreneurial spirit to create processes, change and improve them where required and to be self-sufficient and have real hands-on approach.
This role will have oversight of all facilities on site, including supporting the facilities personnel, ensuring all tasks conducted are done so safely, and with the supporting compliance paperwork. This will naturally extend to 3rd party contractors.
You will ideally have previous experience and understanding of a visitor experience environment. Reliability and adaptability are vital for this role, as are excellent interpersonal, organisational and communication skills. You will support and encourage strong team working across all departments.
This role will suit a candidate who is hungry to exceed in their field of expertise, willing to get involved and be part of a unique business, out of the ‘traditional’ H&S or Compliance environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES TO INCLUDE:

· Assisting the Executive team in writing internal health and safety policies; Implementing good practice risk management strategy, methodologies, and processes in line with regulatory and compliance standards
· Create, review and manage risk assessments, method statements and SOP’s for the business, leading on these projects with department heads
· Assist the operation management team in managing and developing our H&S software system
· Develop and implement a calendar of internal audit checks across all departments, working with Head of departments to deliver
· Planning and ensuring safe working practices and directing / implementing necessary changes
· Keeping up to date and ensure compliance with current Health and Safety, Environmental, Buildings and other relevant legislation and governance standards
· Supporting the team to ensure accident and near miss investigations are completed to standard and schedule, always looking for ways to improve performance
· Creating weekly/monthly H&S reports for the Executive Team
· Performing a senior lead in the H&S committee meetings
· Work with Heads of Departments with a focus on management of change and continually improving the safety culture across the business
· Creating and managing a calendar of health and safety training sessions for all employees, arranging external training if necessary
· Liaise with various governing authorities, acting as the point of contact
· Responsible for ensuring all compliance and operational facilities are in place

· To adhere to existing working practices, methods, procedures, undertake relevant training and development activities and to respond positively to new and alternative systems.
· To co-operate with relevant health and safety legislation, policies and procedures in the performance of the duties of the post
· To carry out the duties and responsibilities of the post in compliance with the Company’s equal opportunities policies
· To maintain confidentiality and observe data protection and associated guidelines where appropriate.
· To understand and comply with the Company’s environmental policies
