Description:
Health and Safety Coordinator reviews, evaluates, and monitors health and safety hazards and develops strategies to prevent, control and eliminate accidents and occupational injuries. The role requires inspection of the workplace environments, equipment and practices to ensure compliance with organization and government environment, health and safety standards and regulations.

Responsibilities:
· Lead and participate in workplace audits and investigations of safety concerns, incidents and accidents.
· Lead and participate in workplace inspections to ensure that equipment, materials and production processes do not present a safety or health hazard to employees.
· Develop and implement health and safety programs, including standard operating procedures, policies, and training to mitigate risk, optimize workers’ health and safety and foster a positive occupational health and safety culture.
· Initiate enforcement procedures on workplaces contravening organization and government health and safety standards and regulations.
· Provide training to employees on the issues of workplace safety.
· Communicate, engage, and influence decision-makers and workers to ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and regulations.
· Coordinate and develop emergency response plans and procedures.
· Investigate accidents and incidents and make recommendations for improvements.
· Conduct risk assessments and identify potential hazards.
· OH&S reporting: records and monitors health and safety incidents and metrics; provide updates regarding workplace safety trends, issues, and legislative development; submits all government OH&S reports.
· Health and Safety orientation: delivers Health and Safety orientation and training for new employees; responsible for holding monthly health and safety meetings for all staff, developing content and presentations for meetings.

Pay: Up to $55,000.00 per year
