Responsibilities:
- Compliance Management: Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental, health, and safety regulations and standards. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of laws and regulations.
- Risk Management: Ensuring that risk assessments are operational, reviewed, and managed to mitigate potential risks in the workplace.
- Program Development: Design and implement EHS policies, procedures, and training programs to mitigate risks and enhance safety awareness.
- Training & Education: Conduct training sessions for employees on EHS practices, emergency procedures, and safe work practices.
- Incident Investigation: Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses. Prepare detailed reports and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Environmental Monitoring: Monitor and report on environmental performance, including waste management, electricity, and resource usage. Implement strategies for sustainability and waste reduction.
- Audit & Inspection: Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with EHS policies and procedures. Prepare reports and track corrective actions. Organise and support external audits, preparing necessary documentation and coordinating with auditors/audit bodies.
- Data Management: Maintain accurate records of EHS activities, training, inspections, and compliance audits. Generate reports for management review.
- Collaboration: Work closely with various departments to promote safety initiatives and ensure EHS considerations are integrated into operational practices.
- Consultation & Participation: Facilitate regular committee meetings to encourage worker consultation and participation in EHS matters. Gather feedback and insights from employees to continuously improve safety practices.
- Emergency Preparedness: Develop and maintain emergency response plans, conducting drills and training sessions to ensure readiness.
- Documentation & Organisation: Maintain accurate and organised records of EHS activities, training, inspections, and compliance audits. Ensure all documentation is up-to-date, easily accessible and maintained in line with document control protocols.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in EHS practices and processes. Implement feedback mechanisms to enhance safety culture and operational efficiency.
- Reporting: Develop, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to EHS initiatives, submit month end reports and present to senior management team analyse of data, identified trends and any areas for improvement.
