QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2 or more years of administrative experience; previous experience in the construction industry, considered an asset.
  • Working toward safety designation.
  • Ability to learn applicable OH&S, environmental legislation and HSE processes.
  • Effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
  • Ability to effectively problem solve.
  • Ability to learn construction processes and terminology.
  • Strong organizational skills and high level of detail orientation.
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft Office Suite with a strong aptitude for adopting new technology.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist District HSE Manager with coordination and implementation of HSE system and initiatives.
  • Assists with management of all health, safety and environment (HSE) Registries databases (ISN, Comply Works etc.).
  • Manage and monitor district health and safety documents.
  • Supports project based HSE as needed.
  • Administer reporting of WCB/WSIB claims, and coordination of medical appointments, drug and alcohol testing when applicable.
  • Assists management with internal/external audit.
  • Compile, analyze and interpret reports from PCL’s safety management system.
  • General administrative tasks (email, coordination of meetings, filing, etc.).
  • Other duties as required.
