Our Role
This role will be based at our Otorohanga and Te Kuiti limestone processing operations in the Waikato region, and will involve periodic travel to support our South Island-based operation. Reporting to the Plant Manager, the HSE Specialist will provide practical site-based health, safety & environmental support to our quarry and processing plant operations to create long-term value. This role is hands-on and involves working with plant employees, leadership and corporate office stakeholders to influence real outcomes that ensure our workplaces are safe, sustainable, compliant and supportive of local community needs
This position will:
· Support proactive risk management.
· Work with all relevant employees to improve week to week safety performance.
· Influence stakeholders to take action and enable continuous improvement.
· Investigate safety and environment incidents.
· Coordinate important HSE programs.
· Help ensure employee training on relevant HSE practice is kept up to date.
Working with site-based employees, supervisors and internal experienced HSE specialists, we need a candidate who:
· Can work constructively with others in the field to help us continuously improve our HSE performance.
· Has great communication and positive relationship building skills.
· Has the ability to learn, organize information, prioritise tasks and take action.
· Is a proactive self-starter who is passionate about bringing positive change and fresh ideas to the table.
· Has relevant HSE experience and qualifications, ideally from other manufacturing or high risk industry. Prior experience and qualifications will be advantageous.
Required are a valid driver’s license and proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite. The right to work in New Zealand is essential.
