Description:
JOB SUMMARY:
As the Health & Safety Inspector, you will serve as the vital link between Walt Disney Imagineering and the shipyard, ensuring that all health and safety standards and regulations are met during the construction of Disney ship projects. You will play a crucial role in safeguarding the well-being of workers, visitors, and the environment by implementing and monitoring health and safety protocols.
This position is fixed-term position estimated through December 2025 and will be on-site in Papenburg, Germany.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3+ years of experience in a health and safety role, preferably in a ship construction or industrial setting
- Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, ISO 45001) preferred
- Certified Health and Safety Professional (CHSP) or equivalent chartered certification preferred
- In-depth knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations standards
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and mitigate safety risks
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with stakeholders at all levels
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful health and safety programs
- Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other relevant software applications
- Fluency in both English and German (written and spoken)
- Flexibility to travel as needed

- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary point of contact for all health and safety matters between Walt Disney Imagineering and the shipyard.
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive health and safety policies and procedures in compliance with local regulations and Disney standards.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
- Provide guidance and training to employees and contractors on safety procedures, emergency protocols, and best practices.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and develop strategies to prevent their recurrence.
- Collaborate with project managers, and other stakeholders to integrate safety measures into project planning and execution.
- Liaise with regulatory agencies and industry organizations to stay updated on relevant health and safety legislation and industry best practices.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs and initiatives, and recommend improvements as needed.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to health and safety activities, including incident reports, training records, and safety data sheets.
- Serve as an advocate for a safety culture by promoting awareness, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
