Health & Safety Manager

This role is responsible for supporting the implementation of the HelloFresh HSMS at the Nuneaton & Banbury distribution centres. Providing advice and support to managers and employees, as well as supporting H&S improvements and initiatives to ensure a safe and healthy work environment across operations. The role manages the Health & Safety team on-site to create and maintain a safe working environment, minimise risks, and promote a culture of safety across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and Engage Team: Foster the development and engagement of direct reports to maximize performance and support colleagues in reaching their full potential.
• Health & Safety System Implementation: Support UK Operations in implementing the HelloFresh Health & Safety Management System (HSMS), ensuring alignment with the latest HSE legislation and industry best practices.
• Risk Assessment and Reduction: Conduct task and area risk assessments, develop and implement risk reduction strategies, and collaborate on ergonomic risk assessments across UK Operations.
• Safety Audits and Emergency Planning: Implement and manage regular safety audits and inspections, develop and review emergency response plans (e.g., fires, chemical spills), and conduct scenario-based drills.
• Incident Investigation and Corrective Actions: Lead or participate in accident and incident investigations, ensuring corrective and preventative actions are taken, and support employees impacted by workplace injuries or illnesses.
• Data Management and Analysis: Maintain accurate and up-to-date safety records, analyze safety data to identify trends, and recommend improvements to enhance workplace safety.
• Champion Company Initiatives: Lead initiatives related to Colleague Happiness, Diversity & Inclusion, and Wellbeing, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.
• Ad Hoc Projects and Compliance: Lead or support ad hoc projects as needed, ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and effectively coordinate service and support functions for smooth operations.
