Exeter Aerospace has a position for a Health and Safety Officer within the Safety and Compliance Department.
This role will be based onsite at Exeter Airport. Reporting to the Head of Safety, Compliance and Training, the successful candidate will lead the effort in health and safety, assisting in and adding to the development of the Company’s Management System.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reducing the risk of accidents and work-related injuries in the workplace.
  • Developing health, safety and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Management and development of the health & safety and environmental management system, including hazard identification and risk assessment.
  • Ensuring that operations and processes comply with relevant legislation, and standards.
  • Proactively investigate and implement health and safety improvement projects.
  • Carry out accident investigations as required.
  • Carry out audits and inspections as required.
  • Develop and carry out training relating to health and safety where required.
  • Other works relating to health and safety as required.

Key Competencies / Skills Required:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a high level of written and oral communication skills.
  • The ability to work as part of the wider Exeter Aerospace team and to achieve a shared vision of high standards.
  • Expert knowledge of health and safety legislation/publications and the ability to apply it to improve the company’s health and safety system.
  • Excellent level of computer literacy (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Willingness to travel to other company sites when necessary at reasonable request.
  • Experience in an engineering environment – preferably aerospace.

Essential Criteria: • Fluent in English, both written and spoken • Professionally competent, demonstrated by a Health & Safety qualification (NEBOSH) or equivalent. Right to live and work in the U
