JOB SUMMARY

As Health & Safety Officer, you will be responsible for promoting and enforcing a culture of safety across EirTrade’s premises. You will play a vital role in ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, implementing effective policies and procedures, conducting risk assessments, and providing guidance to project teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor work processes and procedures to identify unsafe practices or breach of safety regulation
  • Conduct equipment inspections to ensure they are correctly installed and operational
  • Facilitate and schedule repairs of unsafe or damaged equipment
  • Organise safety training to educate company staff on necessary safety principles
  • Develop, document and implement safety procedures and policies for all areas
  • Carry out investigations to identify the root cause of an incident or other unsafe conditions on a work site
  • Oversee the placement and setup of safety signs to warn of potential hazards
  • Take full ownership of the H+S documentation sitewide
  • Prepare and present to company management periodic reports of safety operation
  • Collaborate with law enforcement agents and investigators to address cases of workplace accident
  • Proffer recommendations on safety topics such as proper waste disposal, fire regulations, and noise
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify work areas with high risk of operational hazards
  • Review company operational processes to ensure they are in line with external safety legislations
  • Attend occupational safety and health seminars to update job knowledge and enhance skills
  • Conduct regular formal site audits
  • Organise and support necessary permits, licenses, or permissions in compliance with health and safety legislative requirements
  • Focus on the 3 EirTrade Performance Pillars to be maintained throughout the year.
  • Provide timely reports and metrics on all relevant H+S recommendations, updates and findings
