Description:

Select Roofing, one of Ireland’s premier roofing and cladding companies (part of LPI Group), is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Health & Safety Officer.
The ideal candidate will have previous site experience and a strong commitment to ensuring a safe working environment. You will be responsible for implementing health and safety policies, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a culture of safety across our projects.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 3-5 Years experience in Health and Safety role, preferably in a construction environment. (previous site experience required)
  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Working Knowledge of ISO standards and the ISO certification process.
  • Knowledge of Environmental and Health & Safety systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365 applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor the company’s health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Identify potential hazards and assess risks to develop mitigation strategies.
  • Provide training and support to staff on health and safety practices, including conducting Health & Safety inductions for all new hires and providing manual handling training.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, prepare detailed incident reports, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training sessions.
  • Collaborate with management, site staff and Project Managers to promote a culture of safety within the company.
  • Stay updated on industry regulations, best practices, and legislation in health and safety.
  • Work alongside the health and safety Manager to work towards retaining ISO 45001 certification.
