Description:

SPECIFICALLY, YOU WILL:

  • Develop and maintain Health and Safety Standard Operating Procedures .
  • Act as a resource and provide guidance to field/location managers in understanding their responsibilities related to the implementation of Staples health and safety management system
  • Work in conjunction with the Staples Retail, Supply Chain, Merchandising, Learning and Development, Legal and other departments to ensure current compliance with all regulatory agencies and legislation is met.
  • Manage the administration of safety incentive programs Staples is enrolled in (ie: COR, WSIB Excellence Program)
  • Conduct internal inspections/audits and assist with audit preparation for provincial rebate programs. Follow up on audit recommendations to ensure all items have been completed on time.
  • Generate monthly health and safety KPI reports and analyze for trends.
  • Develop custom reporting, as required, and present statistical information in a meaningful format.

Responsibilities:

The Health & Safety Operations Manager will work with the Health & Safety Team to further develop and continually improve the Staples health and safety management system, including the development of policies and safe work procedures, training, and monitoring to assist with reducing injuries/illnesses and health and safety risks.
In this role, the Health and Safety Manager will be the first point of contact and support to the field; providing guidance and assistance to operational leadership with health & safety program implementation and maintenance. The Health & Safety Manager is also responsible for executing and evaluating safety-related solutions through a combination of applications including data analysis, audits, training programs and investigations.
