JOB DESCRIPTION

Under the supervision of the HR Director, the main responsibilities of this position are supporting the Health & Safety team in various administrative tasks relating to employee training and integration, and the proper documentation of required protective equipment and uniforms. He/she also participates actively in accident investigations and in the deliverables of various OHS projects.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • College diploma (DEC) in general administration, accounting and management techniques, office automation techniques or other appropriate college discipline;
  • Minimum 0 to 2 years’ experience in a similar position;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite;

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Develop and maintain excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work under pressure and on several files simultaneously;
  • Analytical skills, sense of responsibility and customer service;
  • Ability to concentrate on computer tasks;
  • Ability to adapt to change;
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and requests;
  • Experience in the manufacturing sector and knowledge of WHMIS (an asset);

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with department managers to prepare mandatory OHS induction training for all new employees.
  • Ensure that all employees have the required protective equipment.
  • Arrange uniforms for new employees and place orders as required.
  • Conduct plant tours three times a week.
  • Update WHMIS binders on the floor as required.
  • Assist in the management of workplace incidents/accidents.
  • Participate in meetings and provide support as required.
  • Ensure work is done in compliance with OHS standards.
  • Adopt a quality standard in accordance with ISO requirements.
