About the role
Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a Health & Safety Manager to join our Power Transmission & Distribution Team in Scotland. This role will manage a team of Health & Safety Advisors whilst working as part of the Scotland Health & Safety team across the Scotland Region portfolio.
The initial role is to manage a team of Health & Safety Advisors on the Skye 132kV Reinforcement (Overhead Line & Underground Cabling). The project will reinforce the high voltage electricity network, from Ardmore on the Isle of Skye, to Fort Augustus.
What you’ll be doing

On a day to day basis you will be responsible for:

  • Providing guidance, support, advice and compliance monitoring on Health and Safety (H&S) to ensure compliance with the Balfour Beatty HSES integrated Business Management System (BMS), Legislation, BSI requirements and Client standards.
  • The management of a team of Health & Safety Advisors.
  • To provide on-site engagement, coaching and support on H&S and promote safe behaviours on site.

  • Educated to Diploma/Degree Level as a minimum
  • Membership of a relevant professional body (IOSH)
  • Good communicator with influencing and persuasion skills
  • Approachable
  • Good interpersonal skills and team player
  • Displaying and demonstrating the Balfour Beatty behaviours at all times
  • Incident investigator/fact finder
  • Accurate record keeping
  • Relevant experience matched with their Project /Business area.
