Description:

DESCRIPTION

The Ward Clerk provides administrative support to the unit by performing various clerical tasks to include greeting and directing patients, family members and visitors, operating multiple telecommunication systems, transferring calls appropriately and accurately maintain patient charts and unit records. Collaborates with team members to coordinate unit activities and flow of information between teams and other entities.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completion of a Medical Terminology course or the ability to complete within 90 days of date of hire

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Coursework/Training: Pharmacology
  • Upon hire: Medical Assistant Certification (CMA)
  • 6 months experience in health care activities or in an institutional setting
