QUALIFICATIONS

  • Medical Office Assistant Diploma or acceptable combination of education and experience.
  • Previous work experience in office administration within a healthcare setting.
  • Proficient in medical terminology and experienced with TELUS Med Access EMR preferred.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information while adhering to data privacy laws.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, coupled with superior telephone manners.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and a strong desire to provide exceptional customer service.
  • First Aid skills and/or certificates are considered an asset.

Responsibilities:

As a Healthcare Administrative Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our branch. Your primary responsibilities will include scheduling and confirming patient appointments, managing physicians’ and clinicians’ schedules, handling referrals, booking patient appointments, preparing patient charts, and maintaining electronic records. Working closely with a multidisciplinary team, you will leverage your strong communication skills and medical terminology knowledge to facilitate seamless patient care.
