Description:
An opportunity to join the team in the gynaecology outpatient department has arisen. If you are a hardworking , dedicated team player this may be a role that you would enjoy. We are seeking an HCA with outpatient experience and an interest in supporting patients having treatments in our department and patients attending general gynae clinics. Someone organised and keen to assist with ordering supplies and equipment, and who is happy to help keep the departments clean and tidy.
Assisting in the smooth running of clinics and supporting the patients that attend. Caring for women undergoing treatment procedures in the clinic, e.g.: hysteroscopy , cystoscopy and colposcopy. and ensuring their safe recovery in the department. Keeping patients informed of waiting times and helping to keep clinics running to time. Chaperoning our doctors during examinations and preparing the rooms for the next clinic. Checking that there is plenty of equipment in the department and ordering more when supplies get low. Our team works in CRH and HRI, usually Monday to Friday but there is an expectation that occasional clinics at the weekends are staffed by the team.
We employ more than 6,500 staff who deliver compassionate care from our two main hospitals, Calderdale Royal Hospital and Huddersfield Royal Infirmary as well as in community sites, health centres and in patients’ homes. We also are incredibly proud to have almost 150 volunteers here at CHFT.
We provide a range of services including urgent and emergency care; medical; surgical; maternity; gynaecology; critical care; children’s and young people’s services; end of life care and outpatient and diagnostic imaging services.
We provide community health services, including sexual health services in Calderdale from Calderdale Royal and local health centres. These include Todmorden Health Centre and Broad Street Plaza.
We continue to modernise and invest in our health services to build on our strong reputation. Foundation trusts are public leaders in improving quality in health services. They are part of the NHS – yet decisions about what they do and how they do it are driven by independent boards. Boards listen to their Council of Governors and respond to the needs of their members – patients, staff and the local community.
Foundation trusts provide what the health service wants, yet are also free to invest quickly in the changes to the local community needs, in striving to be the best, and in putting their patients first.
As an HCA within the GOPD team you are expected to greet the patients and keep them informed of any delays to their appointment time. Ensure that the patients have a chaperone during their appointment. Keep clinic rooms clean and ready for the next appointment. Assist in keeping the stock and equipment at an appropriate level, ordering more as required. Cleaning scopes and liaising with departments where the equipment is autoclaved, to keep the team aware of equipment return dates to enable treatments to be done
