Description:

JOB OVERVIEW

St Mary’s Hospital on the Isles of Scilly is currently looking for friendly, adaptable and committed Healthcare Assistants to work with the Inpatient and Community Nursing Teams.
St Mary’s Hospital has 10 inpatient beds, an Outpatient Department and a Minor Injury Unit providing 24-hour nurse led care with 24-hour medical expertise provided by 3 resident GP’s.
The post is working 37½ hours per week, which includes day & night duties and weekends, although part-time may be considered.

Responsibilities:

MAIN DUTIES OF THE JOB

To assist in the delivery of health care to patients as a member of the multi-disciplinary team.
To support the Registered Nurse in the assessment of care needs and the development of a programme of care and delivery of delegated aspects of care.
To undertake assigned clinical duties as directed by the Registered Nurse in accordance with standards of nursing care to improve and maintain the activities of daily living for inpatients, MIU and patients in the community.
Provide direct patient physical care, with specific regard for activities of daily living, physical disability and management of incontinence and associated disorders on a daily basis.
