Description:

We seek a detail-oriented Medicaid Coordinator (Billing Coordinator) to join our team. The ideal candidate will manage billing processes, ensure accuracy, and maintain compliance with healthcare regulations.
The Medicaid Coordinator will play a crucial role at our facility and will handle and manage Medicaid/Medicare billing in a skilled nursing facility. Your knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and private pay billing practices is essential to this job.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must be organized, resourceful, self-motivated, and have good verbal and written
communication skills
Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, Email, and healthcare-related EMRs
Must know about Medicare, Medicaid, and private pay billing practices
Must have a High School diploma or equivalent
An A.A.S. degree in business, finance, bookkeeping, preferred
Proficient in budgeting and financial management, a plus

Responsibilities:

  • Proficient in Medicare/Medicaid billing
  • Handle private/NAMI billing and collections.
  • Obtain authorization for Managed Care & MLTC
  • Assist with collecting documentation for Medicaid applicants.
  • Meet with residents and families to discuss obligations.
  • Post daily deposits
  • Maintain resident fund accounts and PNA ledgers
  • Meet with families/residents to discuss financial considerations and distribute PNA funds
  • Process Medicaid applications and recertifications
  • Attend morning meeting
  • Discharge planning with facility staff
  • Monthly aging meetings
  • Sort/scan mail as appropriate for the finance dept.
  • Communicate with attorneys on collection cases.
