Description:

If you are, then Day Care Services may be for you. The MDU at Kingston is a day care facility, providing intravenous chemotherapy and supportive therapies to patients with a variety of cancers. The Trust requires all Band 3 HCSW’s to be able to provide evidence that they have fully completed the Care Certificate or have an equivalent qualification.
The Care Certificate cannot be achieved by only completing online learning. To achieve the care certificate, the person must acquire knowledge (this could be via online learning and completing the eLearning provided by the NHS eLearning for health platform) and be able to demonstrate competence in all 15 standards, this is assessed in the workplace during real work activities.
An equivalent qualification could include a Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care or a related field but must be able demonstrate practical application of the knowledge achieved, online only qualifications are not acceptable.

To carry out in a responsible and efficient way, the nursing care for patients which has been drawn up in conjunction with the co-ordinator of the shift.
To demonstrate the ability to develop a greater awareness and understanding of the needs of patients with cancer and the different treatment modalities, and work autonomously under supervision of a registered nurse.
As an integral member of the nursing team work with team members to ensure the maintenance of an efficient, safe, clean and pleasant environment for all patients
