Description:

We are currently looking for individuals to join us in heavy-duty mechanic positions underground at various mine sites across Saskatchewan. A Journeyperson Automotive Technician or Agricultural Technician may also be considered based on experience and qualifications. A strong preference will be given to Journeypersons - however, a highly self-motivated apprentice may also be considered.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Must have a minimum of 3 years of industry experience, ideally with exposure to underground mining
- Preferably hold trade certification as a Heavy Duty or Agricultural Mechanic
- Must be a team player willing to participate in company safety and production requirements
- Effective communication skills: must be able to carry out verbal instructions, read labels and signs, report progress or issues to supervision
- Have good judgment and ability to make decisions
- Responsible and dependable
- Ability to lift heavy loads repeatedly through an entire work shift
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Able to pass any pre-access screening, including a Drug and Alcohol test
- Valid Drivers License
- Must be physically fit and able to work in various mining locations
- Must be willing to work 12-hour shifts, day and/or night, typically on 7 days on, 7 days off work schedule
- Previous welding experience, diesel tech experience, and/or hydraulics knowledge are considered strong assets.
Responsibilities:
- Check drum miners, alpine miners, scoop trams, telehandlers, diesel personnel carriers, compressors, excavators and other heavy equipment for proper performance.
- Repair and replace defective parts, components and/or systems.
- Support drum miner and alpine miner operators and scoop tram operators to ensure proper preventative maintenance is performed.
- Ensure that all work is being done in compliance with the safety, environmental, and other company protocols.
- Work near heavy equipment and other vehicles on a regular basis.
- Work with hand tools, small engine equipment, and materials in a safe and responsible manner.
- Clean debris, trash and hazardous materials from travel ways and work areas.
