Job Overview:
Iron City Services is a diversified Mining and Construction Services Company engaged in all major aspects of the mining and heavy civil construction industry within the Labrador West region. We are currently seeking a motivated person for the position of Heavy Equipment Operator (Multi-Equipment) to join our expanding team based in Labrador West, NL. As a COR certified company, we have a culture of health & safety, respects, and professionalism.
We are actively recruiting for an experienced, results-driven Heavy Equipment Operator,  in our Labrador West location.
Working directly with open pit mining clients, the Operator position is a safety-sensitive position on a 20/10 rotation, 12-hour shifts, and work would be primarily located at the Iron Ore Company of Canada (IOCC) and/or Tacora Resources mine sites. The Operator will be motivated to accomplish operational objectives, and committed to a culture of Health & Safety. The schedule also has the potential to change to a 14/14 rotation, 12-hour shifts arrangement.
We are seeking an experienced Equipment Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in operating a variety of heavy machinery and equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3-5 years experience operating various heavy equipment in a construction, mining, or related environment
  • Knowledge of heavy equipment along with experience working in a mining or related environment
  • Unwavering commitment to health, safety, and environmental policies.
  • Be aware and work closely with key suppliers & stakeholders entering, leaving, and working on related job sites
  • Operator classifications without restrictions for light vehicles and heavy equipment (Class 5, 8, etc.)

Experience:

Responsibilities:

  • Report directly to the company’s Operations Supervisor
  • Demonstrate proven experience in operating a variety of heavy equipment such as dozers, excavators, loaders, grader and haulage trucks.
  • Perform tasks such as digging, building, and moving materials using specialized machinery
  • Completing pre-operational checklists on a daily and per-equipment use basis and routinely inspect equipment
  • Operate equipment safely and efficiently
  • Follow company safety protocols and regulations at all times while operating equipment while
  • Collaborate with team members to complete projects in a timely manner
  • Attend pre-shift meetings with team to discuss and review Health & Safety and operational tasks.
