Description
Job Summary:
The Apprentice Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) is responsible for performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on all Summit Helicopters aircraft. This position performs maintenance activities as directed by the Director of Maintenance / Production Supervisor.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conducts maintenance on aircraft or aircraft components as directed by the Director of Maintenance / Production Supervisor.
- Performs all maintenance activities in accordance with the applicable standards of airworthiness.
- Ensures all paperwork for assigned tasks is complete and accurate before submitting.
- Ensures all maintenance alerts and memos are read, understood and complied with.
- Identifies possible Service Difficulty Report (SDR) situations and reports to Production Supervisor.
- Troubleshoots faulty systems to determine a course of rectification.
- Carries out the applicable elementary servicing release of an aircraft as authorized to do so by their individual Shop Certification Authority (SCA).
- Conducts hangar clean-up.
- Travels with an aircraft and apprentice / mechanic if it is assigned away from base for an extended period of time, as required.
- Assists with sheet metal / avionics repairs as needed.
- May perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Possess Transport Canada AME M Training Diploma.
- Previous hands-on line experience on aircraft in the Summit Helicopters fleet preferred.
- Hold a valid Canadian Passport and possess a valid driver’s license
- Ability to take direction and learn quickly
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team, as well as work independently
- Flexibility to work shifts including afternoons and weekends
