Description:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Helpdesk Engineer to join our IT team at Weymouth & Kingston Maurward College. As a Helpdesk Engineer, you’ll be at the forefront of supporting a diverse range of technologies within a college environment.
Your primary responsibilities will include being the first point of contact for staff and students, providing exceptional telephone and remote support, and occasionally offering onsite assistance during busy periods or to cover holidays and sickness.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about IT and seeking variety in their work. You’ll join a small, supportive IT team and play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the college’s IT systems. You’ll have opportunities to escalate issues to senior technicians, who will provide guidance and support, and there will be plenty of chances to learn and grow within the IT department.
Given the wide range of technologies used throughout the college, no two days will be the same. While the role is predominantly reactive, you’ll also be responsible for monitoring backups and key network services, ensuring everything runs smoothly.
If you’re looking for a dynamic and varied IT support role, this position could be the perfect fit for you. The role is primarily based at Cranford Avenue campus. Travel to other sites may be required as part of this role.
We look forward to hearing from you!
Weymouth College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be required to apply for an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check and to provide proof of eligibility to work in the UK
