Our job description for the Helplines Practitioner outlines the requirements of the role but the ‘must-haves’ are:

  • A relevant Level 3 qualification or above, for example, in social care, early years, young peoples mental health, SEND.
  • A sound knowledge of the city of Leicester, its population and its services.
  • Experience of working within a multi-agency social care, early years, education or health environment and applying safeguarding procedures.
  • Experience of delivering parenting interventions/family support
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage your own workload within required guidelines.
  • The ability to work on own initiative.
  • The ability and willingness to work remotely.
  • Excellent IT and digital skills and to be quick to learn new IT systems and processes.
  • A confidential space in which to work .
  • Speaking additional languages is desirable.

Responsibilities:

A BIT ABOUT THE ROLE

Parent Talk is a national service that provides support to parents through an online webchat, WhatsApp and telephone support platform and as part of a team of Helpline Practitioners.
This role is specifically to support parents who live in the city of Leicester. A sound knowledge of the city, its population and its services is essential.

There are five sections to complete: Personal Details, CV, Supporting Statement & Information, Equality & Diversity, Submission & Declaration.
