Job information
The University of Bedfordshire’s Culture and Community Engagement team (formerly Arts and Culture Projects) connects university expertise with civic and sector partners, serving as a bridge between higher education, business, and local communities on both a national and local scale. By leveraging interdisciplinary research and leading practical initiatives, the team addresses challenges that are locally relevant and nationally significant.
Reporting to the Head of Culture and Community Engagement, the Heritage Projects Officer collaborates with University of Bedfordshire staff and local partners to implement and oversee the newly funded Heritage Horizons project, supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF). The post-holder coordinates project activities and ensures accurate and comprehensive reporting to both the University and NLHF.
Heritage Horizons builds on the success and lessons learned from the NLHF-funded Heritage Impact Accelerator and Heritage Enterprise Hub. It offers a series of well-defined heritage commissioning opportunities for community-level heritage practitioners across Bedfordshire. The project provides mentoring from the project team and wider university to support practitioners in achieving significant progress in project management, delivery (including data protection compliance), partnerships, and evaluation.
This role provides an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of Bedfordshire’s heritage landscape through strategic collaboration and community engagement.
Interviews will be held on Tuesday 4th March 2025, and will take place at the University of Bedfordshire’s Luton Campus
