Due to continual growth, we are on the search for Technicians that will focus on representing Western Star Trucks (North) Ltd. by repairing and maintaining heavy-duty trucks.
You will be responsible for Diagnosing, repairing, and inspecting Customer equipment and performing maintenance as required.
Repairs can include the following systems: Fuel, Lubrication, Powertrain, engine, Cooling, HVAC, Exhaust, Engine control, Electrical, Electronic, Suspension, Steering, Brakes (Hydraulic/Air) and frame components

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with reliable transportation to and from work
  • Obtain and maintain adequate tooling to perform repairs except for supplied equipment/specialty tooling.
  • Must have roller toolbox, laptop.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Be professional and courteous with customers and peers.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Able to work flexible hours to accommodate department demands.
  • Preferred you are Registered in the Rap Program/apprentice program.
  • Class 1 or 3 License considered an asset.

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose equipment/truck problems and determine required repairs.
  • Ensure Customer’s unit is performing proper operation.
  • Accurately communicate repair diagnosis to Shop Foreman and Service Writers
  • Record any other defects found and report to Foreman and Service Writers to ensure Customer is aware.
  • Assist in determination if failure is warrantable.
  • Complete required repairs in an efficient manner
  • Demonstrate continuous efforts to help the Shop improve Customer turn around and streamline work processes.
  • Follow all Manufacturer guidelines when doing repairs and maintenance.
  • Install rig up equipment on Customer and New Sales units as required.
  • Perform repairs with respect to ensure the unit/parts do not get damaged.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork for Work Order Processes
  • Justify time spent on repairs with adequate corrective stories.
  • Ensure all required documentation is acquired and filed with the work order.
  • Ensure your technician punch time is accurate on the work order and make necessary corrections immediately.
  • Complete required dealer training by the training end dates.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge on product and new information as released.
  • Assist other employees as needed to promote a friendly learning environment.
  • Treat all Company/Customer and fellow employee’s property with respect.
  • Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulations, and compliances.
  • Report any unsafe conditions or accidents/injuries immediately to your Shop Foreman/Manager
