Description:
Canada Pump and Power is hiring for a Full-Time Heavy Equipment Technician for our Fort McMurray location. We are looking for someone that has experience working with diesel engines and has electrical knowledge and experience. This position is Monday through Friday 730am-4pm, 8 hours per day with occasional approved overtime when business demands. Heavy Duty Mechanic provides maintenance support to Operations and Production through repairing and maintaining equipment; Inspect and repair pumps, heavy equipment, and other assets while under the Supervision of the Department Maintenance Supervisor; Document asset repairs and foreseeable issues.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Document repairs, complete, and submit work orders to Maintenance Supervisor
- Stage and Prepare Repair Materials
- Collect and stage required parts and components for repairs.
- Load staged materials into service trucks.
- Dispose of post-repair materials in an environmentally appropriate manner
- Repair and Maintain Equipment
- Follow daily repair priority list provided by Maintenance Supervisor
- Diagnose mechanical issues and establish repair timeframes.
- Requisition required specialty components.
- Conduct required and preventive repairs to assets within manufacture and safety standards.
- Verify repairs and report summary of maintenance conducted to area supervisor.
- Consult the Maintenance Supervisor regarding mechanical standards, protocols, and warranty repair procedures.
- Follow company processes and company Safe Work Procedures and Practices
- Work within company, customer, and other existing standards and regulations pertaining to their scope of work.
- Reporting and rectifying of potential hazards, accidents, and near misses.
- Perform Field Level Risk Assessments (FLRA)
- Conduct pre-use equipment inspections and report required maintenance.
- Gain familiarization with customer and Canada Pump and Power rules, regulations, and standards.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read write and understand English.
- Actively enrolled in a recognized Heavy-Duty Mechanic Apprenticeship program, or successfully certified
- Site specific orientation and training when required
- Must possess Valid driver’s license with 3 years of acceptable driving history with the ability to pull a trailer safely.
- Must participate in and pass screening tests for drugs, alcohol, and other controlled substances.
