Our school requires an English Literature teacher with experience to join our growing team. Ideal candidates are expected to have a teaching qualification (B.Ed. Or M.Ed).

Responsibilities Include:

  • Create engaging lesson plans and work with students to ensure success in the chosen course
  • Ensure compliance with all Ontario Ministry of Education guidelines and curriculum requirements
  • Prepare students for exams and in written assignments
  • Evaluate student progress continually and create rubrics for assignments if necessary
  • Create monthly progress reports and student portfolios
  • Keep complete records of lesson plans and notes on classroom issues
  • Submit midterms, portfolios and final exams for review
  • Alert school staff of any difficult situations or anything suspicious, dangerous or out of the ordinary.

Specific Qualifications:

  • Completion of university required
  • University degree in Education, Child and Youth Studies, or English
  • Experience working with international students is an asset
  • Experience in a teaching or tutoring environment
  • OCT certified

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 2 months

Licence/Certification:

  • Ontario Teaching Certificate (preferred)
