Our school requires an English Literature teacher with experience to join our growing team. Ideal candidates are expected to have a teaching qualification (B.Ed. Or M.Ed).
Responsibilities Include:
- Create engaging lesson plans and work with students to ensure success in the chosen course
- Ensure compliance with all Ontario Ministry of Education guidelines and curriculum requirements
- Prepare students for exams and in written assignments
- Evaluate student progress continually and create rubrics for assignments if necessary
- Create monthly progress reports and student portfolios
- Keep complete records of lesson plans and notes on classroom issues
- Submit midterms, portfolios and final exams for review
- Alert school staff of any difficult situations or anything suspicious, dangerous or out of the ordinary.
Specific Qualifications:
- Completion of university required
- University degree in Education, Child and Youth Studies, or English
- Experience working with international students is an asset
- Experience in a teaching or tutoring environment
- OCT certified
