JOB SUMMARY:

A high-speed machinist in our Windsor Mold Tooling Division facility, will set up and machine using Computer Numerical Control (CNC) and milling machines to cut metal and other materials into products with precise dimensions.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent that includes Math and English credits, and
  • Min of 3-4 years’ experience as a CNC Machinist in an injection mold manufacturing facility, working independently on 5-axis milling machines, performing 3D and 2D operations.
  • Experience machining cores, cavities, and large mold components to high tolerances and surface finishes in an unattended environment.
  • Experience programming with WorkNC and Heidenhain controllers would be an asset.
  • Quality and Precision: Machining parts at high speeds requires precision and attention to detail to meet quality standards and tolerances. High-speed machinists must carefully monitor machine performance, make adjustments as needed, and conduct quality checks to ensure parts meet specifications.

Responsibilities:

Your supervisor may from time to time ask you to perform other related duties not specifically included in this job description. This job’s key responsibilities include:

  • Program and operate 5 axis CNC performing 3D and 2D work.
  • Use FCS and other fixturing systems to create a stable working holding arrangement for workpiece.
  • Check the machine tool’s calibration and motion accuracy.
  • Working knowledge of the tools, fixtures, processes utilized in the machining departments.
  • Perform all required machining checks for quality, schedule and perform maintenance and repairs to machinery.
  • Accountable for machine set-up and /or operations and / or maintenance, and/or troubleshooting.
  • Ability to adhere and complete work within specified timelines.
  • Must be prepared to work on various shifts with and without supervision.
