Description:

We are looking for a physiotherapist who is wishing to take the next step in their career as part of our dynamic pelvic health physiotherapy department. This exciting role offers you the opportunity to work in a large team with an excellent reputation.
As a specialist department, this is the ideal location for you to build on your foundation skills and further develop your knowledge in specialisms from pelvic floor dysfunction to management of musculoskeletal problems in pregnancy.
Our work includes managing obstetric wards and musculoskeletal outpatients, pelvic floor dysfunction outpatient clinics, and classes including antenatal exercise and a healthy pregnancy advice group. For a candidate wishing to expand their knowledge in all areas of pelvic floor dysfunction including urology, colorectal, uro-gyaecology and sexual dysfunction patients, both male and female, this role is well suited. Specialist clinics include postnatal perineal tear clinics and direct access pathway clinics.

The post will give you the opportunity to build on and extend your clinical expertise and also develop your leadership skills. Education and training are key elements of the department. The applicant should have experience of working in a pelvic health physiotherapy setting at post qualification level. Being flexible and innovative in your ways of working will be fundamental to your role and good communication skills are essential. As a band seven physiotherapist you will also be responsible for the mentoring and appraisal of other members of the team.
The successful post holder may be based at any of the hospital or community sites.

The pelvic health physiotherapy service provides a range of inpatient and outpatient services for women and some men on 2 acute sites and 2 community contracts for neighbouring clinical commissioning groups (CCGs). Inpatient obstetrics and gynaecology services are provided to NHS patients. Outpatient services are provided for women and men referred with health issues relating to any of the following: pregnancy, childbirth, bladder and bowel dysfunction, pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic pain, sexual dysfunction. There are three Band 7 posts within the team - individuals may be required to work in any of these roles.
