Salford City Council currently has an exciting vacancy within our Highway Asset and Maintenance team.
We are seeking an ambitious, self-motivated Engineer who can bring new experience and knowledge into our team, to assist in delivery of our Highway Investment Programme and other Highway works programmes.

As a Highway Engineer your primary purpose will be to prepare the Highway Network Maintenance Schemes for delivery, including pre-measures, preparation of drawings and specification and in consultation with other members of the team determine appropriate material choices to ensure that the City’s Highway Network is maintained to a high standard. You will also respond to correspondence from Councillors, Neighbourhood Managers, other officers, and members of the public in a timely manner in relation to an issues arising with regard to the schemes. You will also assist the Team Leader in the preparation of other works programmes from time to time as service area demands.

• Currently officers are working from home or in the Civic Centre (by prior booking arrangements). The Highway Engineer role requires the officer to be working at various sites within the Salford City Council boundary. Occasionally there may be requirements to travel outside of the Salford boundary to attend some meetings.
