Emil Anderson Maintenance (EAM) is the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure’s road and bridge maintenance contractor for Service Area 7 (Fraser Valley) and Service Area 26 (Skeena).

JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a Highway Maintenance Operator/Labourer to join our team in the Nass valley. This role involves a wide range of maintenance tasks aimed at keeping roadways safe and functional. You will operate various types of machinery and perform routine maintenance including, but not limited to, brushing, bridge washing, road repairs, road sign repair, emergency response, and other duties as and when required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must hold a valid BC Driver’s License of the appropriate class required to carry out related trade functions – Class 3 with air brake endorsement required, Class 1 preferred.
- Traffic Control/Flagging Certification.
- Previous experience in highway maintenance, construction, or a related field is an asset.
- Willingness to work in varied weather conditions and to respond to emergency call-outs outside of regular hours.
Qualified applicants are required to provide current ICBC “N” drivers abstract along with their resume.
Successful applicant will be required to undergo pre-employment drug screening

Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy equipment such as plows, graders, loaders, and backhoes for road maintenance and construction tasks.
- Perform routine checks and maintenance on equipment to ensure operational safety and efficiency.
- Conduct manual labour tasks such as shoveling, sweeping, and patching potholes.
- Respond to emergency road situations such as snowfalls, floods, and other hazardous conditions.
- Implement traffic control measures to protect the crew and public during road works.
