Our Balfour Beatty Highways business has a terrific opportunity for a Highways Maintenance Operative for our Highways DBFO.
What you’ll be doing
As a Highways Maintenance Operative, you will be supporting the Operative Team managing all the costs related to the DBFO contract.

As a Highways Maintenance Operative [Level 1] you will be undertaking a 2 year work experience based training programme in Highway Maintenance; You’ll be following a 70:20:10 method of training:

• 70% on the job training
• 20% mentoring / coaching
• 10% formal training & qualifications
• Over the period of 2 years, you’ll learn all the aspects of how to work safely whilst maintaining the M1, A1(M), M621 and M621 for the travelling public, providing a key service to the Leeds area

Compliance:

• Work within a culture of Zero Harm embedding the 4 Golden Rules within all aspects of service delivery
• Reporting all observations Close Calls and Good Practices
• Compliance with all statutory and company procedures across all the functions, specifically H&S

SERVICE DELIVERY:

• Carry out all reasonable work instructions via the handheld device
• Support the emergency service provision in and out of hours
• Support the delivery of winter maintenance service
