HIL and EGSE Principal Engineer

Here at The Exploration Company, we are developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle that can eventually be refuelled in orbit and that can carry cargo - and potentially humans in the longer run.
We want you as a talented HIL and EGSE Principal Engineer to help us in our mission by designing, integrating and testing our Hardware in The Loop (HIL) platform and Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

In your capacity as a HIL and EGSE Principal Engineer, your role will be continuously evolving, but day to day your duties will include:

• Define and refine the architecture of our HIL platforms and EGSE to ensure optimal performance and scalability.
• Lead discussions with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure alignment with overall project objectives.
• Evaluate and select the appropriate hardware and software for the platforms
• Perform make or buy tradeoffs; collaborate with external partners or vendors to request, evaluate and integrate hardware or software.
• Build and scale the team developing, integrating and validating the HIL platforms and EGSE
• Coordinate the overall activities related to HIL and EGSE within the team
• Providing technical guidance and support to junior engineers and team members
• Actively participate in system-level tests and provide support for troubleshooting and resolving integration issues.
• Coordinate the overall activities related to HIL and EGSE within the team.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of the HIL platforms and EGSE with the other subsystems.
• Drive continuous improvement efforts to enhance the accuracy, reliability, and efficiency of the HIL platforms and EGSE

In the role of HIL and EGSE Principal Engineer ideally, you will have the following:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
• Proven experience in designing and operating HIL platforms and/or EGSE
• A good theoretical and/or practical understanding of electronic systems
• Exposure to designing and implementing test systems for electronic
• Basic knowledge of verification and validation of avionics and embedded software
• Basic understanding of space avionics
• Leadership experience will be a plus
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
