Description:
Are you an expert in using Hardware-in-the-loop systems? Have you got aspirations to be a part of the energy transition? If so, please read below.
As the HIL Development Engineer you will be responsible for driving the hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) development and testing for battery storage projects in the EMEA region.
Skills And Experience:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in computer, industrial, electrical or control engineering (or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years of HIL experience (OPAL-RT/RTDS/Typhoon) in the power utility or related industry
- Knowledge of electricity transmission/distribution and EMS systems
- Familiarity with SCADA protocols (IEC60870, IEC 61850, DNP3, Modbus, etc.)
- Proficient in Linux systems, high-level programming (Python, C/C++) and GitHub
- Experience with Simulink for model-based systems engineering
- Strong communication skills; fluency in English required; German or other language skills a plus
- Solution-oriented mindset with a commitment to quality and safet
Responsibilities:
- Drive HIL development and testing for battery storage projects
- Lead client and subcontractor interface for FAT concept development
- Collaborate with control engineers to define HIL specifications and test scenarios
- Develop and execute test procedures (FAT/SAT) to streamline commissioning and conduct hands-on lab testing of prototype systems
- Support utility-scale energy storage product development, including controls application testing
- Stay updated on company products, industry best practices and technology advancements to ensure high-quality controls services
- Maintain change control procedures and documentation
- Provide reports and updates to company leadership on strategy and performance
Ensure adherence to safety KPIs

Logistics:
Start Date: ASAP but important to get the right candidate so please still apply if you have a 3 month notice period
- Employment Term: Minimum 12 month contract
- Working Arrangement: Remote Position with 20% travel required
