Description:
SUMMARY
The HIS Systems Admin - Network Specialist installs, configures, and troubleshoots base systems structure and computer networks and associated assemblies on a daily basis.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Network Engineering, or related area required
- Master’s Degree in Computer Science preferred
- Five years of related experience preferred
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Must have outstanding computer network engineering skills
- Must be able to problem solve at a high/complex level
- Must be extremely detailed oriented
- Must be proficient with VMWare, Windows Server, SQL Server, Network Security, Networking and Firewall configuration, Wireless LAN, Microsoft 365, and all other applicable computer software deemed appropriate
- Must have excellent communication skills, proper grammar, and writing capability
- Must be team-oriented
- Must be self-directed, highly motivated, able to multi-task and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to accurately and efficiently handle multiple projects at one time
- Must have exceptional interpersonal skills
- Must possess a caring, patient, and friendly attitude

- Typical noise level for the work environment of this job is moderate (i.e. business office with computers and printers, light traffic)

Responsibilities:
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manages VMWare server and Horizon View environments
- Upgrades network hardware and software components as required
- Installs upgrades and configures network printing, directory structures, rights, security and software on file servers
- Manages Network security, Networking equipment, and Firewall configuration
- Proficient in Network security and HIPAA requirements
- Performs network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common network problems
- Provides users with network and software technical support
- Responds to the needs and questions of users concerning their access of resources on the network
- Establishes network users, user environment, directories and security for networks being installed
- Completes all tasks and responsibilities as noted in the pay for performance program
- Maintains proper standards of productivity as defined by the Manager
- Professional and Personal Development/Goals and Objectives
a. Exhibits professional demeanor with a positive enthusiastic attitude at all times when representing the practice
b. Maintains certification, where applicable, and continues to improve skills
c. Must attend all in-services and webinar training seminars as directed by the IT Manager
d. Sets goals and objectives for professional growth. Reviews and revises goals on an ongoing basis
e. Provides input on how to improve customer service, decrease costs and increase revenues for the practice - Customer Service
a. Supports the practice core values and mission statement to develop, enhance and promote quality customer service through team effort
b. Exhibits flexibility, sensitivity and respect while maintaining an effective working relationship with all team members - Maintains practice confidentiality, follows HIPAA/OSHA guidelines and follows the rules and regulations of the practice as documented in the practice employee manual
