Oasis Academy Woodview are looking for an excellent HLTA to work in our school. This is an opportunity to work with the best, most inspiring children in the city.
This is an exciting opportunity for an inspiring, innovative and dynamic candidate to be part of a thriving, inspirational team. This role will include working a 1-1 basis as well as leading small groups, and whole classes throughout the school.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be confident in working throughout the school from Reception to Year 6
  • Have previous experience of supporting children with special educational needs and specifically children with an autism diagnosis
  • Be totally committed to raising standards and overcoming barriers to learning for all children
  • Be driven to ensure each child they work with makes accelerated progress
  • Be able to develop the social, emotional skills and interactions of identified pupils
  • Successfully work with children, developing positive relationships and providing appropriate support.
  • Have a commitment to working as part of our hardworking team.

The role will include but is not limited to:-

  • Supporting pupils, including those with a SEND need consistently, whilst recognising and responding to their individual needs.
  • Organise and manage appropriate learning environment and resources.
  • Provide objective and accurate feedback and reports as required on pupil achievement, progress and other matters, ensuring the availability of appropriate evidence
  • Record progress and achievement in lessons/activities systematically and providing evidence of range and level of progress and attainment.
  • Work within an established behaviour policy to anticipate and manage behaviour constructively, promoting self-control and independence
  • Supporting the role of parents in pupils’ learning and contribute to/lead meetings with parents to provide constructive feedback on pupil progress/achievement etc.
  • Production of lesson plans and resources to support groups/ classes of children.
  • Monitor and evaluate pupil responses to learning activities through a range of assessment and monitoring strategies against pre-determined learning objectives
  • Within an agreed system of supervision, plan challenging teaching and learning objectives to evaluate and adjust lessons/work plans as appropriate.
  • Mark students’ work using the agreed approach to marking at Oasis Woodview.
  • Administer and assess/mark tests.
  • Assess the needs of pupils and use detailed knowledge and specialist skills to support pupils learning.
  • Establish productive working relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and setting high expectations.
