HOME CARE ASSISTANT - REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience in a care role is desirable but not essential; comprehensive training to “Care Certificate” level will be provided.
  • A compassionate nature and a genuine desire to support and care for others.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, using initiative when necessary.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to address and resolve issues effectively.
  • Willingness to participate in further training and development as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide personal care and support to clients, following their individual care plans.
  • Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and toileting.
  • Prepare and assist with meal feeding as required.
  • Support clients with mobility and transfers, using manual handling equipment when necessary.
  • Administer medication according to care plans and medication policies.
  • Observe and report changes in clients’ health and well-being to the care manager or healthcare professionals.
  • Engage clients in social activities and outings as specified in their care plans.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of care services provided, including daily logs and medication records.
  • Collaborate with the care team to ensure clients receive high-quality care.
  • Comply with health and safety policies and procedures to ensure the safety of clients and colleagues.
