HOSPITAL-BASED PROGRAM ASSISTANTS (PART-TIME)

Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Northeast Ohio, Inc. (“RMHC NEO”) is looking for highly motivated and driven individuals who possess passion, compassion, and dedication as part-time Hospital-Based Program Assistants.
These positions will be assigned up to 19 hours to work at any Hospital-Based Programs (HBP) which are located in area hospitals served by RMHC NEO (including the Hospital Family Rooms or the STAR (Support, Teaching, Awareness and Resources) Center either on an eastside basis at Cleveland Clinic Children’s and Rainbow Babies and Children’s or on a westside basis at Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital and MetroHealth.
The position is responsible for registering visitors or families, providing resources and support to families, ensuring that the space is clean and that supplies are stocked and available. This position will also adhere to and uphold all program and hospital policies.

HOURLY PAY RATE. EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • $15.78 hourly rate of pay
  • School Diploma or GED with 2 or more years of experience working in social services, classroom, childcare, or pre-school setting. Associate Degree in Social Services, Child Development, Early Children Education Education/Special Education or Family Studies in a plus.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrate responsibility to uphold HBP policies and procedures.
  • Good communication skills and ability to interact efficiently as a team member.
  • Computer proficiency, including familiarity with MS Office products (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Valid driver’s license a plus.

Responsibilities:

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducts all activities in a manner consistent with the Mission, Vision, and Core Values of the organization.
  • Registers new visitors, or families, and orients them to the HBP location that they are visiting.
  • Helps provide a warm, friendly, and supportive atmosphere for families and visitors.
  • Informs families about the HBP policies and procedures.
  • Enforces policies when needed and offers resources to families.
  • Keeps HBP physical space neat and clean to provide a comfortable environment for visitors.
  • Works with visitors/children on age-appropriate lessons involving healthy habits, positive peer socialization and some school readiness skills when assigned to work at the STAR Center/Corner.
  • Provides each family with take home lesson information “takeaways” and other supporting materials to promote a greater awareness of community resources to help impact future well-being when assigned to work at the STAR Center/Corner.
  • Offers services to families and children by taking the Happy Wheels Cart to hospital areas such as maternity ward, pediatric floor, and waiting room areas.
  • Answers telephones.
  • Maintains statistical records.
  • Provides a satisfaction survey to each family served.
  • Offers resources to families.
  • Picks up and delivers supplies to the HBP as needed.
  • Establishes priorities for managing own work while staying on a focused, efficient path for achieving results.
  • Acts as organizational ambassador and presents a positive image of RMHC NEO.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
