Description:

Overview
St. Joseph’s Medical Center is a cornerstone of healthcare in Stockton, CA, proudly serving the community as part of the CommonSpirit Health ministry. CommonSpirit Health, formed by the alignment of Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI) and Dignity Health, is one of the largest healthcare systems in the nation, with over 2,200 care sites and 140 hospitals across 24 states. We are committed to building healthy communities, advocating for the vulnerable, and continuously innovating how and where healing occurs.
SJMC is on the cusp of a transformative expansion project that will update the current facility, technology, and infrastructure, bringing a state-of-the-art medical center to the heart of Stockton. This phased expansion includes the addition of a new Acute Care Tower with 24 new ICU beds, 120 new general acute patient beds, a 70-station Emergency Department, a cutting-edge 10-room surgical suite, and a new parking structure. We are also expanding our physician residency program, improving patient experience, and enhancing seismic safety. Up to two new emergency response heliports will further strengthen our ability to serve the community in critical times.
As we embark on this exciting journey, we seek a visionary Hospital President to lead St. Joseph’s Medical Center into the future, ensuring the successful execution of this expansion and the continued excellence of our healthcare delivery.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strategic relationships with physicians, community leaders, regulatory bodies, and other external partners. Act as the hospital’s ambassador to the community, ensuring that SJMC remains a trusted and valued healthcare provider.
  • Talent Development: Lead, mentor, and develop the hospital’s leadership team. Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, and professional growth within the organization.
  • Community and Patient Advocacy: Ensure that the hospital’s services meet the needs of the community, particularly the underserved and vulnerable populations. Champion initiatives that enhance the patient experience and improve access to care.
