Description:
HOSPITAL RECEPTIONIST
One Hatfield Hospital, part of the Phoenix Hospital Group, based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, is looking for a confident and enthusiastic Hospital Receptionist with strong communication skills.
Reporting to the Front of House Manager, the successful applicant will provide an efficient, courteous, welcoming service to accommodate the needs of all patients and visitors to the hospital reception and/or outpatient department.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum GCSE education or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required
- Previous administration experience in a business/health care sector environment.
- 2 years relevant experience within an administrative or customer services role.

Responsibilities:
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES OF THE ROLE
- Tasks may include appointment bookings, admission bookings, reception duties, check in procedures for patients, receipt of payment for bills. Participation in preparation for clinic lists, taking patient payments and assisting with telephone enquiries.
- Prepare documents and complete forms as per department procedures and business requirements.
- Liaise regularly with internal and external customers.
- Ensure that all incoming calls via switchboard are answered in a timely manner in line with company best practice.
- Resolve customer queries, whether in person, via telephone or email in a professional manner.
- Verify patients medical insurance details prior to admission.
- Undertake general office duties and any other duties as may be requested by department lead
Salary: £11.44 per hour
Hours: FlexiBank shifts Mon to Fri. Shifts will be between 07:30 and 20:30
