Description:

The Department of Haematology - Oncology is seeking Cancer Care Hospitalists who would like to join us for a challenging and fulfilling appointment in providing care to patients with a range of cancers, spanning inpatient and outpatient domains. We are a unique department in the National University Cancer Institute of Singapore that houses three divisions – Medical Oncology, Haematology and Palliative Care, hence candidates can expect to acquire knowledge and skills for the holistic and cross-disciplinary care of cancer patients, including but not limited to investigation and management of a broad range of cancers, acute care of patients with haematological and oncological emergencies, as well as palliative and supportive management of patients with advanced, progressive illness.
As a Cancer Care Hospitalist, you may be part of the care team led by Senior Consultants / Consultants in the day-to-day running of the haematology and oncology inpatient wards and/or consultative palliative care services at the National University Hospital, Singapore. There will be opportunities to rotate through our outpatient cancer centre where you may be expected to review patients who requite urgent care either as a result of their underlying malignancy or cancer treatment or need basic bedside procedures for the palliation of cancer symptoms. The working hours are generally from 8.00 am to 5.30 pm, Mondays – Fridays; you will not be expected to do night calls or floats but may be expected to provide coverage at our outpatient chemotherapy centre on certain Saturday mornings. For those who are highly motivated and willing to upskill, you will be offered the opportunity to acquire skills beyond your expected level of function and encouraged to be involved in research projects and education of juniors.
Please contact us if you’d like to be part of our team providing holistic cancer care at a world-class national cancer centre. This is a rare opportunity suitable for compassionate and empathetic individuals who desire a meaningful and fulfilling job with good work-life balance.
