Job Description: Hospitality Manager (multiple sites) Reports to: Associate Director of Sustainable Estates Accountable to: Chief Operating Officer Based at: St Elizabeth Hospice Job summary The Hospitality Manager is essential in supporting St Elizabeths Cafe Manager teams across all locations, including Moments Mobile Event Catering. This role requires a proactive, flexible and committed individual to ensure smooth operations and achieve growth targets across all sites including Moments at St Elizabeth Hospice, Foxhall Road catering for patients and the public. Responsibilities and Service Delivery: Ensure an excellent customer experience. Assist in sourcing and pricing new products and menu ideas.
Resolve customer complaints promptly and effectively. Support marketing and promotional activities. Maintain functionally suitable facilities, ensuring a safe and pleasant environment across all Moments sites. Assist Cafe Managers in driving business growth.
Anticipate and address operational issues proactively. Provide hands on kitchen support as needed. Cover for annual leave and sickness with some weekend working. Oversee the day to day management of the Moments brand and service.
Always uphold the standards of St Elizabeth Hospice. Ensure the Moments brand provides safe and accessible facilities for everyone. Liaise, troubleshoot, and problem-solve to ensure quick resolution of issues within the soft facilities functions and service. Contract management To ensure effective management, reporting and monitoring of performance and accounts to ensure that all costs and expenditure are within the budgeted levels.
To collaboratively work with the procurement and purchasing department to carry out regular price comparisons and tenders for Moments functions and services. To proactively manage the work of contractors for Moments functions and services. Compliance, health and safety and environmental To comply with statutory regulations and Hospice policies relating to health and safety, infection prevention and control, safe working practices, purchasing, cleanliness and COSHH. To research and promote measures to reduce the carbon footprint of all soft facilities functions and services.
To undertake dynamic assessment of risk in all areas of operation and to redirect or reprioritise resources as appropriate. To provide support in the case of emergency situations and take appropriate actions as necessary. To ensure that adequate compliance records are maintained in accordance with legislative requirements, Hospice policies and procedures and best practices. People management and leadership To provide management of the Moments teams ensuring that performance, training and development requirements, coaching & mentoring requirements and appraisal targets are agreed and managed effectively.
To record sickness and annual leave as required and carry out return to work meetings To undertake inductions of new staff members as required. Ensure that StaffCare is kept up to date Educational To participate in the Hospice education programme. To give feedback from attended education programmes study days. Personal development To devise with the Head of Estates, a personal development plan in line with the Hospice objectives and personal needs.
To maintain and increase personal professional skills Organisational responsibilities To work at all times within the policies of the Hospice and act within Care Standards at all times. To uphold the Hospice and individual team values at all times. To ensure effective use of resources. To respect, at all times, the confidentiality of information covering patients, staff and volunteers.
To play an active part in the development and maintenance of good relationships with all who have business with the Hospice. To promote the Hospice Philosophy of Care towards patients, relatives and visitors. Because of the special nature of the Hospice and its work, the post holder may, on occasion, be asked to undertake other duties to help maintain our high standard of care.
